What is User Flow?
User flow is The steps a user must take to complete a conversion or other goal.
This important in web analytics and web marketing as it gives us a clear idea of how are user navigating our web property, where they come in and where are they exiting.
What is User experience?
User experience is The experience a visitor has when interacting with your site or web property. This includes load time, site structure, general functionality, level of engagement with content, etc. (See “Content”, “Engagement”, “Load time” and “Site structure” above).
What is a landing page?
A landing page is a specific page a visitor lands on when they first arrive at your site. For example, if someone on your company Facebook page clicks a link to your latest blog post, the blog post they arrive at is their landing page.
A landing page is considered one of the most important pages on your site, as it is the first impression that people will have of your brand if they are visiting your site for the first time.
What is Behavioural marketing?
Behavioural marketing is the process of marketing to specific behaviours. In this type of marketing, rather than deliver the same message or content to all users, you tailor content to specific behaviours. For example, you may create specific content for certain search terms, for return visitors, for shoppers who have items in their cart but have not checked out, etc.
What is a conversion in digital marketing?
A conversion is anytime a customer or site visitors completes a desired action on your web property. Conversions will differ from business to business, depending on your unique goals and objectives. Examples of conversions include a sale, newsletter sign up, app download, event registration, etc. The action must be fully completed to be considered a conversion.
What is User-driven metrics?
User-driven metrics are the Metrics based on user behaviour (See “Metrics” and “User” above). Examples of user-driven metrics include average time on site, bounce rate, pages per visit, etc.
What is a User?
A user is a person interacting with a site or web property.
What is load time?
Load time is the time it takes for all elements of a webpage to be fully displayed.
Load time is becoming more and more important, as our attention span is becoming shorter and shorter. The shorter the load time of a page, the faster the page will load, and the more user engagement we will be able to see on our site.
What is a user funnel?
A user funnel is the pathways visitors take to get to a desired location. For example, if visitors typically start on your homepage, navigate to a Services page, then navigate to a Contact Us page, that journey would be your typical visitor funnel. Funnels get more complex the more pages you have on your site. Ecommerce sites, for example, can have very complex funnels. Insight into these funnels help us identify where we may be losing people so that we can improve the funnel to increase conversions.
What is a conversion rate in digital marketing?
A Conversion rate is The percentage of visitors to your site or web property who complete a specific goal or objective. See “Conversion” above.
