What this FAQ schema generator does
FAQ schema is structured data that marks up a list of questions and answers so search engines and AI tools can read them as clear question and answer pairs. This generator turns your FAQ into ready-to-paste FAQPage JSON-LD, plus matching HTML for a visible FAQ section, so the markup and the page content always agree. No coding is needed, and everything runs in your browser.
How to use it
- Type your questions and answers one by one, or paste an existing FAQ from a document using Q: and A: markers.
- Incomplete pairs are left out automatically, so you can draft as you go.
- Copy the JSON-LD into the page's
<head>or body, or into your SEO plugin's custom schema field. - Use the Visible HTML tab if you also need the FAQ section itself.
- Test the page with Google's Rich Results Test or the Schema.org validator.
Since August 2023, Google only shows FAQ rich results for a small group of well-known government and health websites. The markup is still valid, and it still describes your content in a clean, structured way for any system that reads it.
Frequently asked questions
Do the questions in the markup need to appear on the page?
Yes. Every question and answer in your FAQPage markup should also be visible to visitors on the same page. Marking up content people cannot see goes against Google's structured data guidelines.
How many questions can I add?
As many as you need. Keep the list focused on questions your customers really ask, and keep each answer short and direct.
Can I use FAQ schema in other languages?
Yes. Write your questions and answers in the language of the page. For a bilingual site, add separate markup on each language version of the page.
Can I edit the generated code?
Yes. The output is plain JSON-LD, so you can adjust it by hand. Run it through a validator afterwards to make sure it is still valid.
