1. Introduction

AEO Auditor Ultimate (“we,” “us,” or “our”) is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how our Chrome Extension functions and assures you that we do not collect, store, or share your personal data.

2. No Data Collection

We are transparent about our data practices. Based on our configuration and the functionality of the extension:

  • No Personally Identifiable Information (PII): We do not collect names, addresses, emails, or ages.

  • No Financial Information: We do not collect or process payment details or financial history.

  • No Health or Authentication Information: We do not access health records or authentication credentials.

  • No Web History or Activity Tracking: We do not track your browsing history, keystrokes, or mouse movements.

The extension operates strictly on the specific tab you activate it on and does not run in the background to monitor your activity.

3. Data Processing & Third-Party Services

While we do not collect your data, the extension performs the following actions to function:

  • Website Content: To perform the AEO audit, the extension reads the text of the specific webpage you are viewing only when you click “Analyze”.

  • OpenAI API: The text from the webpage is sent directly from your browser to the OpenAI API for analysis. This data is not sent to our servers, nor is it stored by us.

  • API Keys: Your OpenAI API Key is stored locally on your device using Chrome’s secure storage (chrome.storage.local). It is never transmitted to us or any other third party.

4. Data Usage Certifications

In accordance with the Google Chrome Web Store Data Safety Policy, we certify the following:

  • We do not sell or transfer user data to third parties.

  • We do not use or transfer user data for purposes unrelated to the item’s single purpose.

  • We do not use or transfer user data to determine creditworthiness or for lending purposes.

5. User Control

You have full control over the extension. It only runs when explicitly triggered by you (via the extension icon or context menu). You may uninstall the extension at any time to remove all locally stored settings, including your API key.

⚠️ Important Developer Note (Read Carefully)

Since your code scrapes text from the page and sends it to OpenAI, Google might eventually ask you to check the “Website Content” box in that screenshot.

If they reject your submission for “Not declaring data collection,” you should:

  1. Go back to that screen.

  2. Check “Website Content”.

  3. Check “Authentication Information” (for the API key).

  4. Update the policy slightly to say: “We access Website Content solely for the purpose of processing your analysis request via OpenAI.”
