How to use the image cropper
Upload an image and pick an aspect ratio, or choose Custom and type your own, such as 5:4. The crop starts centred at the largest size that fits. Drag the bright area on the preview to move it, and use the crop size slider to zoom in. When the framing looks right, download the cropped image as PNG, JPG or WebP. Everything happens in your browser.
Why aspect ratio matters
Every social platform expects different proportions. If you upload the wrong shape, the platform crops it for you, often cutting off faces, logos or text. Cropping to the right ratio yourself means your composition lands the way you planned.

Can I move the crop area?
Yes. Drag the bright area on the preview with a mouse or your finger. Re-center puts it back in the middle.
Why use 4:5 on Instagram?
Instagram shows taller posts larger in the feed, so a 4:5 portrait image takes up more screen space than a square one.
What is 1.91:1?
It is the shape used for link previews on Facebook, LinkedIn and X, such as a 1200 × 630 Open Graph image.
Does cropping reduce quality?
No. Cropping keeps the original pixels inside the crop area. Only JPG and WebP output add a small amount of compression.
