What this extension does

GMB Review Analyzer helps you turn a Google Maps business listing’s public reviews into an actionable report. It auto-scrolls the listing’s Reviews panel, collects the text and star ratings that are visible on the page, and sends that review content to an AI model to generate insights (sentiment, themes, suggested actions). The report is rendered on the page and can be downloaded as a TXT or Word (.doc) file.

Data we collect and process

  • From web pages you visit (Google Maps listings only): Public review text, star ratings, and review dates that appear on the listing you choose to analyze.

  • Your settings (optional): An OpenAI API key you provide, preferred model name, and a max-reviews limit.

  • Generated outputs: The AI analysis (JSON/text) and the list of collected reviews.

We do not collect your name, email, passwords, or Google account data. We do not read your inbox, calendar, or contacts. We do not record browsing history outside the specific listing tab where you invoke the tool.

Where data is stored

  • Locally in your browser:

    • Latest report (text + JSON), last analyzed business name/URL, timeframe, and your settings are saved in Chrome storage (sync/local) so you don’t lose them if you close the popup or tab.

    • You can clear these at any time (see “Your controls” below).

  • Sent to the OpenAI API for analysis:

    • The collected reviews (text, ratings, dates) are sent directly from the extension to api.openai.com to generate the summary.

    • If you enter your own API key, it is stored only in Chrome storage and used solely to call the OpenAI API.

    • If you do not enter a key, the extension may use a developer-provided key; the request still goes directly to OpenAI.

    • We do not operate our own backend servers for this extension, and we do not receive or store your review data on our servers.

Note: OpenAI may process and temporarily retain API content per its own policies. Review OpenAI’s API data usage and privacy documentation for details.

Why we process your data (legal bases)

  • Provide the service: Generate review insights you requested (contract/legitimate interests).

  • Improve reliability and user experience: Persist your last report and settings locally so you don’t have to re-run or re-enter them (legitimate interests).

  • Security and abuse prevention: Limited, necessary checks to avoid misuse of the analysis feature (legitimate interests).

We do not sell your data and do not use it for targeted advertising.

Data sharing

  • OpenAI (Processor): Receives review text/ratings/dates to produce the analysis you requested.

  • Google/Chrome (Platform): Hosts the extension, provides storage and permissions.

  • No other third parties. We do not share or sell data to data brokers or ad networks.

Permissions we request (why we need them)

  • activeTab / scripting: Run the content script on the tab you activate to extract reviews and render the report.

  • storage: Save your settings and the latest report locally so it persists.

  • Host permissions (*.google.com, api.openai.com): Read review content on Google Maps listings you open, and call the OpenAI API to analyze it.

We scope activity to the listing tab where you click “Analyze.” The extension does not run on unrelated sites.

Retention

  • Local data (reports + settings): Kept until you clear it or uninstall the extension. Generating a new report may overwrite the prior one.

  • OpenAI: May retain API content for a limited time per its policies. We do not control their retention; see OpenAI’s documentation.

Your controls and choices

  • Clear local data:

    • Options → remove your API key, adjust settings.

    • Chrome: chrome://settings/ → “Clear browsing data” → “Hosted app data,” or uninstall the extension to remove all local storage for it.

  • Opt out of developer key: Enter your own OpenAI API key in Options so only your key is used.

  • Export: Download reports as TXT or Word. All exports are generated entirely client-side.

To exercise privacy rights (access, deletion, correction, portability) beyond the controls above, email privacy@riman.agency. We may ask for information to verify the request relates to this extension’s data on your device.

Security

We follow the principle of data minimization, store settings/reports only in Chrome’s extension storage, and transmit review content to OpenAI over HTTPS. No system is perfectly secure; avoid analyzing pages that contain sensitive personal data, and consider providing your own API key for tighter control.

Children’s privacy

This extension is not directed to children under 13 (or under 16 where applicable). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

International transfers

OpenAI and Google may process data on servers located in the United States or other countries. By using the extension, you acknowledge such transfers.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy as the extension evolves. Material changes will be reflected by updating the “Effective date.” Continued use after changes means you accept the updated policy.
