1. Introduction
Ultimate Security & Tech Scanner (“the Extension”) is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains what information the Extension accesses, how it is used, and the choices you have.
2. Information We Access
-
Current Tab URL & Response Headers
When you click “Scan This Page,” we temporarily access the URL of your active tab and issue a fetch request to retrieve its HTTP response headers (e.g. Content-Security-Policy, HSTS, etc.). -
Page DOM Content
We inject a small, one-time content script to enumerate insecure (HTTP) assets and JSON-LD schema types. -
DNS Lookups
We perform DNS lookups (A and ANY) via Google’s public DNS-over-HTTPS API to display your site’s DNS records.
3. How We Use Your Information
All data is used locally in your browser, solely to generate the scan report you see in the popup. We do not collect, store, or transmit any personal data or browsing history to external servers.
4. Data Retention
-
No Storage
The Extension does not persist any of the scanned information once you close the popup. Each scan is ephemeral.
5. Third-Party Services
-
Google DNS-over-HTTPS
We use Google’s public DNS-over-HTTPS API to resolve domain records. No personal data is sent beyond the queried domain name itself.
6. Permissions Explained
-
activeTab
Grants temporary access to the current tab’s URL and DOM solely when you click “Scan This Page.” -
scripting
Allows us to inject the content-script for a one-time scan, triggered explicitly by you.
7. No Tracking or Analytics
We do not integrate any analytics, advertising, or user-tracking libraries. There is no telemetry.
8. Your Choices
-
You can remove the Extension at any time via Chrome’s Extensions page.
-
If you do not click “Scan,” no code runs and no data is accessed.
