Privacy Policy for Pro Link Analyzer

Effective Date: March 18, 2026

1. Introduction

This Privacy Policy applies to the “Pro Link Analyzer” Chrome Extension (hereinafter referred to as “the Extension”). We respect your privacy and are committed to protecting it. This policy explains what data the Extension processes and how it is handled.

2. Data Collection and Usage

We do not collect, store, transmit, or sell any personal data. The Extension operates entirely locally within your browser. Its sole purpose is to analyze the hyperlinks present on the webpage you are actively viewing to determine their HTTP status codes (e.g., 200 Good, 301 Redirect, 404 Broken).

To perform this function, the Extension does the following:

  • Scrapes Anchor Tags: It temporarily reads the <a> tags (hyperlinks) on your currently active, visible tab.

  • Performs Local Network Requests: It uses your browser to send standard HTTP GET requests to the URLs found on the page to verify if the links are broken.

  • Generates Local Exports: If you choose to use the “Export CSV” feature, the file is generated entirely locally on your machine. No data is ever sent to our servers or any third-party servers.

3. Required Permissions

The Extension requires specific browser permissions to function. Here is how they are used:

  • activeTab & scripting: Used strictly to read the links on the page you actively choose to scan and to visually highlight them based on their status.

  • <all_urls> (Host Permissions): Because the links on a webpage can point to any domain on the internet, the Extension requires permission to perform background network requests to those external domains to verify if they are broken. This permission is strictly used for the link-checking mechanism and is never used to track your browsing history.

  • downloads: Used solely to allow you to save the generated CSV report to your local hard drive.

4. Third-Party Services

The Extension does not use any third-party analytics (such as Google Analytics), tracking scripts, or external APIs.

5. Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. If any changes are made, we will update the “Effective Date” at the top of this policy.
