Pigmenta Kromata
collect, transmit, store on any server, or sell any personal information. The colors and palettes
you save stay in your own browser.
1. Who this applies to
This policy applies to the Pigmenta Kromata – Pick Colors on Any Website
browser extension (“the extension,” “we,” “our”), published by Tarek Riman / Riman Agency Inc.
It explains what the extension does and does not do with information when you use it.
2. What we collect
We do not collect any personal data. The extension does not require an account,
does not ask for your name, email, or any identifier, and does not track your browsing activity.
There is no analytics, no advertising, no telemetry, and no third-party tracking of
any kind in the extension.
3. Information processed on your device
To do its job, the extension processes the following locally — on your computer, inside your
browser. None of it is sent to us or to anyone else:
- Color values you pick or scan. When you sample a pixel or scan a page, the
extension reads color information from the page you are actively viewing to display HEX, RGB, HSL
and HSV values. - Saved palettes and recent picks. Colors you choose to save are stored using
the browser’s local storage (chrome.storage) so they’re available the next time you
open the panel. This data never leaves your browser and you can delete it at any time.
4. Permissions and why they’re used
Chrome requires the extension to declare the permissions it uses. Here is exactly why each one
exists:
- activeTab — to read pixel colors from the tab you’re actively viewing, only
when you start a pick or scan. - scripting — to display the color-sampling overlay and magnifier on the
current page when you activate picking. - storage — to save your recent picks and named palettes locally in your
browser. - contextMenus — to add a right-click shortcut for starting a color pick.
- sidePanel — to show the extension’s interface in Chrome’s side panel.
- host access (<all_urls>) — because you may want to pick a color on any
website. Color data is only read from a page when you explicitly start a pick or scan. The
extension does not read, log, or transmit page content for any other purpose.
5. What we never do
- We never sell or rent your data — there is no data to sell.
- We never transfer your information to third parties.
- We never use your information for advertising or for any purpose unrelated to picking and
saving colors. - We never run remote code; the extension ships with everything it needs and works offline.
6. Data retention and deletion
Your saved palettes and recent picks remain in your browser’s local storage until you delete
them. You can remove all stored data at any time by deleting saved palettes within the extension,
or by removing the extension from Chrome — which clears its local storage.
7. Children’s privacy
The extension is a general-purpose design utility and is not directed at children. It collects no
personal information from anyone, including children.
8. Changes to this policy
If the extension’s data practices ever change, this policy will be updated and the “Last updated”
date above will be revised. Material changes will be reflected in the extension’s store listing.
