AEO Lens — Privacy Policy

AEO Lens (“the extension”) is a Chrome extension published by Riman Agency Inc. It analyzes the web page you are currently viewing and reports how well that page is optimized for AI answer engines. This policy explains exactly what data the extension handles and why.

What the extension accesses

When — and only when — you click “Analyze this page,” the extension reads content from the tab you are currently viewing, specifically:

  • The page’s visible text (truncated to a configurable character limit).
  • The page URL and title.
  • Structural elements used for the analysis: headings, lists, tables, image alt text, structured data (JSON-LD) types, and links.

The extension does not run on any page automatically, does not track your browsing history, and does not read pages you have not explicitly chosen to analyze.

How the data is used

To generate the AI portion of the analysis, the page text and the structural details listed above are sent over an encrypted connection to a proxy endpoint (by default https://tire-compare.com/api/aeo-proxy.php), which relays them to an OpenAI-compatible language model. The model returns a structured analysis (a readiness score, likely-quoted passages, detected entities, and recommendations), which the extension displays to you.

The page content is sent only to produce your analysis. It is processed transiently for that single request and is not used for advertising, profiling, creditworthiness, or any purpose unrelated to the extension’s function.

Data we store

The extension stores your settings (selected model, proxy endpoint, and maximum characters to send) locally on your device using Chrome’s storage.local API. These settings never leave your device except as part of an analysis request you initiate. The extension does not store the content of analyzed pages, and it does not maintain any account, identifier, or server-side profile tied to you.

Third-party processing

The text you submit for analysis is processed by the language-model provider (OpenAI or a compatible provider) reached through the proxy endpoint, solely to generate your analysis. No API keys or credentials are stored in the extension; they are held server-side by the proxy.

Data we do not collect

The extension does not collect personally identifiable information, health information, financial information, authentication credentials, personal communications, or location data. It does not sell or transfer your data to third parties, and it does not use your data for purposes unrelated to its single purpose.

Your control

  • No data is read or transmitted unless you click “Analyze this page.”
  • You can change or remove the proxy endpoint in Settings.
  • You can lower the maximum characters sent, or remove the extension at any time to stop all processing.
