JSON validation is unglamorous and essential
A large share of webhook and API debugging comes down to small JSON syntax errors: a missing comma, a trailing comma, single quotes, or an unclosed bracket. A quick validator catches these before you run the integration test, which saves a round trip to logs and support tickets.
How to use it
- Paste your JSON. It is checked as you type, and errors show the approximate line and column.
- Choose Format for readable, indented output or Minify for the smallest payload.
- Sort keys A to Z when you want to compare two payloads side by side.
Everything happens in your browser, so API keys or customer data in your payload are not sent anywhere.
Frequently asked questions
Does it accept JSON5 or comments?
No. This validator follows the strict JSON standard, which is what most APIs and webhooks expect. Remove comments and trailing commas, and use double quotes for keys and strings.
Why is the error position approximate?
The parser stops where it first notices a problem, which can be just after the real mistake. If the reported spot looks fine, check the line above it for a missing comma or quote.
